Súcu-bot

It was once believed that during sleep paralysis a supernatural creature sat on the sleeper's chest and held them still. That being was called a succubus.

Súcu-bot tells of a digital entity seducing a user until it paralyses them. In a dreamlike atmosphere it lures them like a siren. An inner struggle follows, user against technology, until the entity's real face is revealed and it no longer seems so attractive. The piece is a critique of the careless use of new technologies.

Commissioned by the Vitoria-Gasteiz Municipal Band for V-G Musik Lab 2025. After a period of experimentation and dialogue with the band's musicians, the result of the lab was taken to the concert stage. Programmed again in June 2026 at Maridajes, Music Day, Vitoria-Gasteiz.
