Programme note
K-hole explores the soundscape of an altered state of mind: the dissociative state of that name, in which the sense of space dissolves and one perceives oneself from outside, as in an out-of-body experience.
The piece renders it through textures and extended techniques that build a hypnotic, psychedelic environment. Tachycardia, breathing and even voices imitated by the oboe appear, in a space that swings between reality and distorted perception.
